Rusty
Haynes
Rusty Haynes has been in private practice for the past
17 years and is the current president of CollegeMasters,
Inc., an international educational consultancy that
also includes Ed Custard, author of the Best 331 Colleges,
and Alan Posich, a financial consultant recently quoted
in Money Magazine and U.S. News & World Report.
He is a certified educational planner and a former recruitment
coordinator with over twenty years of experience in
college admission and counseling. Rusty was the first,
and for several years the only, educational consultant
elected to serve as a regional association president
of NACAC (the National Association of College Admission
Counseling). His experience includes eight years in
university admission and ten years as a private school
educational consultant. Rusty has served on several
national committees and boards, been quoted in many
national publications and appeared on numerous talk
shows as an expert on college counseling and admission.
As an educational consultant he has worked with several
organizations including The Princeton Review, EAS, USA
Today, Time, TMP (i.e. monster.com, fastweb.com, etc.),
and Peterson’s. Rusty has also been featured on the
pages of Rolling Stone, Time, and the Princeton Review’s
College Advisor software
Edward
T. Custard
Ed is a former college admissions director and online
communications professional with twenty-four years of experience
in college admission and counseling. He was a co-founder
and Senior Vice President, Educational Services at PureAdvice.com
(the first live, real-time college admission and financial
aid advising service on the Internet) and the former
lead author of Random House/Princeton Review's "Best
Colleges" guidebook, the best-selling subjective
college guide in the US. He has authored or edited three
other major college guides and regularly writes on issues
related to college admission. His work includes collaboration
on award-winning software, web sites, and television
programs focused on college counseling; as director
of online information services for a major educational
services firm he hosted the first regularly-scheduled
live college counseling forums in cyberspace. An undergraduate
and graduate admissions professional at highly selective
academic and performing arts institutions for thirteen
years, Ed's expertise has been featured in hundreds
of public speaking engagements and quoted thousands
of times in major media coverage of college admissions
issues throughout the United States and abroad.
Alan
C. Posich
Alan is an independent educational consultant with 25
years of experience in private education on the primary,
secondary and post secondary levels. He is registered
as a Certified Educational Planner with specialties
in college counseling and financial aid consulting.
He has served in numerous positions with independent
schools, including Head of School, Admissions Director,
and Director of Studies. Alan's current work focuses
in on counseling students and families in college or
private school placement the world over. Additionally,
he maintains a specialty in advising clients on matters
of financing a college education. He has consulted with
Money Magazine, US News & World Report and other
publications on matters of financial aid. Alan has lectured
on all aspects of college admissions to high schools,
parent organizations and civic groups. His consulting
practice also offers schools advice on accreditation
issues and other matters of school management.
